Register a New Group

  1. First, Register the new group with the Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters (World Services), which issues group registration numbers.
  2. Then, once you have received your group number, contact the Central Ohio Al-Anon office. You may E-mail the Central Ohio Al-Anon office at [email protected] or call (614) 547-1550. Feel free to leave a detailed message if no one is available. Include: the name of your group, the group registration number, meeting name, address of meeting, the day and time the group meets, and weather observers are welcome. Also, leave your contact information in case the office has any questions.

Update Existing Group Meeting Information

There are a two steps for updating your group’s meeting information.

  1. First, Submit changes to the Al-Anon Family Group Headquarters (World Services), which issues group registration numbers.
  2. After you’ve submitted changes to the Al-Anon Headquarters, please contact,the Central Ohio Al-Anon office. You may E-mail the Central Ohio Al-Anon office at [email protected] or call (614) 547-1550. Feel free to leave a detailed message if no one is available. Include: the name of your group, the group registration number, meeting name, address of meeting, the day and time the group meets, and weather observers are welcome. Suggested Intergroup Guidelines

Developed by a committee and approved by the Group Representatives (GRs) that attend Intergroup, the Suggested Intergroup Guidelines for Central Ohio Al-Anon Family Groups provides a foundation for making decisions. GRs, District Representatives (DR), Coordinators and Officers should be familiar with the document. Additional resources include the Al-Anon Family Group Service Manual from the World Service Office and the Ohio Al-Anon Family Group Guidelines.

Intergroup Etiquette

Many people dislike meetings – especially ones that gets bogged down in personalities, bickering or redundant discussions. Intergroup Etiquette provides a common foundation, approved by the GRs, that allows the Chair to move meetings along. It provides agreed-upon guidelines for introducing new business, introducing motions, having discussions, moving business along and overruling the Chair.
